Trail West - Day 2

We had another fabulous day at camp. We started the morning with Ben attending the Men’s breakfast where he had a chance to get meet some of the others here this week. Noah and I ate breakfast with Papa Billy and Nana. Ben joined us when he was finished.

After breakfast, they have cabin time where you can reflect on the message from the night before and spend some quiet time with your family before the day begins. This is a new addition to family camp, and I love the idea. Once cabin time was over, we headed to the Trail West "horseless Rodeo". We had a blast. Noah is a little young to participate in the activities, but he still had a good time running around and watching. There were four teams and the games included, racing with water on your head while riding a stick horse, shovel races, egg tosses, and spinning races. It was so fun to see the both the kids and the adults (especially the men) get so excited.

After the Rodeo, we took Noah to see the horses and the barn animals. We've quickly found out that Noah is a big fan of horses, and we have only been here for 2 days. Papa Billy and Ben took him to feed the horses on Sunday before camp started, so that is all he has talked about.

Once we were done feeding the horses, we headed back to the Lodge and had lunch in The Grove. The Grove is down from the lodge surrounded by Aspen trees. The weather was perfect, and we got to meet some other families that are here. Noah also enjoyed the playground, of course.

After lunch, Ben and I attended a seminar on the “Three things to teach your children”. The speakers were greate, and we are looking forward to some of their other seminars throughout the week. While we were at the seminar, Noah attended Kids Club. He is in the Bronco group which ranges in age from 2 to 5. Kids Club has different activities throughout the week, and then, they also watch the kids while the adults are Club. This afternoon they took them to see the horses again and pet the animals. All the kids get do ride “Bdig Red” which is a red truck with bandannas all down the side. While there, they got to ride the ponies, ride on the buggy, and pet the animals. Noah’s Nana snuck down there and took some pictures of them.

It was a long day for our little man, so after Kid’s Club, Noah took a nap, and by the time he woke up it was dinner.

We ended the night with a special treat of having Club at Frontier Ranch. This brought back so many memories for me, and it was the first time Ben got to experience the high school Club. Besides a change in music (I think I need to start listening to Justin Bieber b/c I definitely felt old for not knowing some of the songs) it was just how I remembered it. The speaker did an awesome job, and I pray that the kids at camp this week get to experience everything God has in store for them.

It was a great day, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds for us.
