Halloween Festivities Part II

To continue with the Halloween festivities, Noah finally got to wear his dinosaur costume. I didn't realize that I never showed Noah his costume, so when I put it on him I kept telling him he was a dinosaur and showing him what a dinosaur does and the sounds they make. After about 5 minutes, he walked by and looked at himself in the mirror and started saying alligator and chomping his hands like an alligator does. So, I guess he was both a dinosaur and an alligator this year.

SCHOOL PARADE

Noah had a Halloween parade at his school. It was so cute to see all his little friends dressed up. I don't think he really understood what was going on, but he loved the Halloween cupcakes they got when they were done. I think the parade was actually more fun for the parents than the kids.

HALLOWEEN DAY

We had a very relaxed Halloween day. We did some shopping, decorated some pumpkins, and made chili. It was so nice!!! Noah had a great time as well. He really liked trick or treating especially for the lollipops. We only went to a couple of houses on our street. At first Noah wasn't sure what to do, but by the end of the night he was a pro :).

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and amazing friends!!

My sister called me yesterday just to tell me how thankful she was for things in her life and it made me realize how easy it is to get caught up in the big meal and the pre Christmas stuff rather than reflecting on what we are thankful for and the blessings we have received. I am thankful for so many things in my life; however, these are just a few:
  • Our beautiful son - he is such a miracle and the love we have for him is indescribable. We look forward to everyday we get to spend with him;
  • Our family - we have the most amazing family and while we don't get to be with all of them today, we are glad for the ones we are and will miss the ones we can't. We look forward to seeing them soon;
  • My sisters - having three sisters is such a blessing. They have taught me more about myself, how to love, and how to be a good friend. They are my best friends!
  • The men and women who are selflessly serving our country to keep us safe;
  • For Ben's uncle finally being able to return home right before the holidays after 9 months of being in Houston fighting cancer; and
  • For God's unveiling love which guides us everyday.
Hope everyone has a great day!! "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."  Psalm 107:1

Halloween Festivities Part I

This post is very late, but I guess it is better to be late than never post it.

WARNING - It is a long post.

October was filled with quit a few Halloween and fall type activities. It went by so fast, but we had a great time.

DEWBERRY FARMS

We started the month by heading to Dewberry Farms with Bill, Kate, and Liam. Unfortunately, Noah was not in the best mood when we first got there. We started with a melt down in the middle of the pumpkin patch which led me to jumping off the hay ride and carry him all the back to the entrance. I am sure it won't be the last time this happens :).

After the melt down we headed back and had a snack. After a snow cone and some corn, Noah was in a much better mood, and we got to take in everything Dewberry Farms had to offer.

We then took our chance at getting some family pictures.

As you can tell Noah wasn't that thrilled about the pictures.

We then headed to the kiddie park. . .

Noah loved the slide.

This was a house full of corn kernels. Noah wasn't sure what to think.

Did the duck races. . .

Unfortunately, Dad won.

Fed the goats . . .

And ended the day with the pig races.

By the end of the day, we had warn Little Liam out.

We had a great time and will be going back next year.

NEIGHBORHOOD FALL FESTIVAL

A week later, Bill and Kate invited us to their neighborhood Halloween party. Unfortunately, Ben had to work, so it was just Noah and I. We had such a fun time. Noah's costume had not come in yet, and Liam's was pretty warm, so we decided to make them Aggie football players. (There was a game that day, so we figured it would work).

Noah and Liam posing at Kate's before we headed to the party.

I thought this pumpkin was so fun!!

Noah and Liam preferred to play with the props rather than take pictures.

After the party, we went back and decorated pumpkins.

They turned out so cute and were so easy.
Stay posted for more Halloween Festivities.

Early Birthday Celebration

We had a great weekend last weekend. On Friday, I met Corinne in College Station, so her and Papa Billy could watch Noah Friday night and Saturday. Ben and I went to dinner at Hearsay Friday night and had a great time. It was so relaxing. On Saturday, I got almost all of my Christmas shopping done. It was awesome!!! Saturday afternoon, Ben and I drove to Temple to see Noah, and we watched an awesome A&M game. Whoop!! Ha ha ha . . . I can't believe I just said whoop!

Sunday morning, we got our family pictures taken. I think we got some great pictures, but a future post will tell :).

Finally, on Sunday afternoon we met Will and Nicole outside Navasota at Retreat Hill Winery in Whitehall. Since we have plans the next couple of weeks, we decided to celebrate my birthday early, so Will and Nicole planned a great afternoon at the Winery. Well, let's just say it is not like the Wineries in Napa, but we had a great time. The weather was amazing and no one was there, so we got to sit and enjoy the afternoon.

Retreat Hill Wine. It was actually pretty good.

Noah giving Mama Birthday hugs!! I love this boy!

Noah enjoying the wine barrels

Will and Nicole relaxing on the front patio.

So cute!!

Noah was trying to "cheers" everything. As you can tell, we almost lost the bottles.

Family Portrait! Even Sadie got to enjoy the fun.

This is Noah telling us he is ready to go and to stop taking pictures.
 On our way home from the winery, we stopped at Goode Company BBQ for dinner. We ended the night with one of my favorite desserts . . . Pecan Pie. It was amazing and a great end to the day. Thanks Will and Nicole for a great early birthday!!

On a separate note, at the winery I was bouncing Noah on my knee, and he was going crazy. I think this picture is hilarious. I have no idea what his hair is doing.

Also, I know it looks like we did nothing for Halloween, but I promise we had a lot of fun. I had an issue downloading my pictures from October, but I finally got it worked out. Those posts will follow.
