Dear Noah,
Happy Birthday sweet boy!! Two years ago today, we were holding you in our arms for the first time. We never could have imagined how much you would change our lives. Time is flying by. You have been such a blessing to both of us, and we treasure every moment God has given us together. This is a letter in celebration of you.
Little man, to say it simply, you are full of energy. Sitting still is not something you typically do very long. Naturally, you go from one toy to the next, energetically run around the house, and try to jump off everything (which is a little scary for mommy) whenever you can. And, you love being outside. When we let Sadie out, you literally run in circles with her in the back yard. I hope that energy stays with you forever. You keep us on our toes though which is good!
You are not a huge fan of coloring, but you love books, which we enjoy reading to you; even though we don’t always get through the whole story by the time you want a new book J. Over the past year, we’ve enjoyed watching you continue to develop into your own little person; it seems as if each day is a new milestone. It amazes us how much of a sponge you truly are and how much you are talking. And you have teeth!!!! You have all of your teeth; well, except for one on the bottom. At one year, you only had two teeth, so we are excited the rest finally came in. Probably won’t be long before the tooth fairy makes her first visit!!
You love anything to do with cars, trucks, and trains. Thomas and his friends are your favorites! You like to point them out whenever you see them, read about them, play with them, and watch them on TV. You are a true boy!!! Your newest interest in the last month has been dinosaurs.
You don’t like to remain in one spot long enough to watch much TV, but when you do your favorites are Thomas the Train, Mickey Mouse,the Dinosaur Train, and Elmo (“Sesame Street”). You love the zoo and the children’s museum, but Gymboree is probably your favorite. Whether it is the class, the open gyms, or just playing with the clown “Gymbo”, we enjoy seeing your smile each time we are there.
Two years later, you are still not the best sleeper (unless you are at your Aunt Coley’s house). On a very good night, you go down around 9 and get up at 7 and take an hour nap during the day. Now, if you are at your Aunt Coley’s house your nap is no less than 2 ½ hours. I will never understand that :).
You have not been a very picky eater, which we are very happy about. Your favorite meals are macaroni & cheese, hot dogs, bananas, and corn (of all things?). You still won’t drink milk out of a glass, so you eat a lot of cereal (which is the only way you will drink milk) and eat lots of cheese.
These are just a few of the simple things, among many that we cherish. Noah, you have a laugh that brightens the room, and your smile is infectious. You can literally make yourself laugh. It is like you tell yourself a joke, lay your head back, and start laughing. You make the funniest faces, and your new thing is to make facial expressions when we explain something to you. I hate to tell you little boy, but your frown is still so cute!!
I know every mom says this, but you are the sweetest boy. You still let me rock you to sleep every night, and now that you can talk you ask for hugs and kisses which I hope never changes, but most certainly will.

We have been so blessed to be your parents, treasure every moment, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for you. Happy 2nd Birthday Noah!!
